My MAC Palette | Collection

Parfait Amour frost
Parfait Amour, 'Perfect Love' in French, is a beautiful cool toned violet shade. Unfortunately it does lack pigmentation and staying power, so I would recommend priming the eyes and using a dense brush for application (e.g MAC 217). (Tutorial here)

Sketch velvet
Possibly my favourite eyeshadow of all time - a gorgeous burgundy shade with extremely slight red shimmer. No joke, everytime I wear this shadow I get compliments on my eye makeup! If you have green or blue eyes you need this eyeshadow - it really does bring out the colour. I like to wear it in the crease with Naked Lunch all over the lid, or alone as an eyeliner on the top lash line. (Tutorial here and here)

Satin Taupe frost...?
One of the more well known MAC eyeshadows, Satin Taupe is the perfect shimmery cool toned Taupe. It's a lovely colour for the crease, but I often need to pair it with a warmer toned shadow all over the lid or I find my eyes looking too... greyish?

Naked Lunch frost
Firstly, love the name. Naked Lunch is a frosty light pink and a lovely all over the lid or highlight colour. I remember I had such high expectations for this eyeshadow and was slighlty disappointed when I first tried it, but since then I have found ways to make it work without looking too frosty or sickly on my complextion.

Sumptous Olive veluxe pearl
Similarly to Naked Lunch, I was initially disappointed with this eyeshadow. In the pan it looks like a gorgeous khaki olive, but on my skin tone it appears to have more golden undertones, not exactly very flattering on me. Again, I have found ways to make it work, but it's definitely a shadow that I'm always so close to selling.

Omega matte
The most boring eyeshadow in my palette, yet the only one I reach for everyday. This muted beige is the perfect shade for filling in my eyebrows.

Fun Fact?
I used to own All That Glitters, possibly one of the most hyped MAC eyeshadows. Everybody seems to love it... but me. I owned it but after a year of it just collecting dust in my drawer, I realised I need to break my 'I don't wear it, but it's a classic, so I need it' habit and sold it. For some reason the gorgeous peachy champagne shade that looks amazing in the pan and on everyone else, looks bland on my eyes and makes me look like I'm sick or have an eye infection. Sigh.

Review: Australis Paprazzi Perfect Eyeshadow

Australis Paparazzi Perfect HD Eyeshadow
"Snap Attack"

Colour: 'Snap Attack' has 5 gorgeous pearly neutral eyeshadows. Starting on the left is a lovely champagne colour that reminds me a bit of MAC All That Glitters and Urban Decay Sin. As you can see this is my favourite and most used colour as I have hit pan significantly. It's a perfect all over the lid colour which looks great on its own or paired with one of the darker colours in the crease. The top shadow is another favourite of mine, a gorgeous warm taupe which actually looks quite bronzish on my skin tone. On the right is a light sandy gold, a nice inner corner or brow bone highlight. Personally I don't use this shadow too much as I don't find it compliments the other colours in the palette. The shadow on the bottom is a nice deeper taupe, I don't find myself reaching for this colour too often. Lastly is the warm champagne orange shade in the middle. This shadow is a beautiful and unique colour that I love to blend into my crease to make any look warmer.

Pigmentation: The eyeshadows are highly pigmented and apply and blend smoothly.

Longivity: I find these eyeshadows have a decent lasting power. Paired with a primer and depending on how hot the weater is, these generally last through the whole work/school day for me.

Packaging:
The palette is a sleek, black packaging with a decent size mirror. They are quite sturdy but be careful, this is my second palette as I dropped my first on tiles and the eyeshadows crumbled! (my bad haha)

Price: $15.95 AUD - a reasonable price for a 'drugstore' eyeshadow palette (Well in Australia that is... haha). I also managed to pick mine up when Priceline had 20% off Australis.

Selection: This palette comes in a selection of colours, check out the Australis site for pictures/descriptions of each.

Paprazzi Perfect: Australis says "Eyeshadows are formulated with light reflecting photocromatic pigments" - I actually agree and love the way these shadows photograph, they have a gorgeous pearly finish that brightens the eyes.

Overall Thoughts: I love these eyeshadows and will definitely be re-purchasing when I run out. They apply and blend smoothly, leaving a gorgeous pearly finish. The only thing I would personally change is removing the colours I don't use and making my favourites bigger... but isn't that always the case with eyeshadow palettes :P
