Haul | Benefit Beauty

Just a couple days after making my skincare wishlist (see previous post) I decided to put in an order from the Benefit US website and purchase some skincare and makeup. Prices are in USD and if you spend $125 they have free international shipping (when I made the order it was only $90, but that deal is over now unfortunately).

1. Benefit POWda WOWza $28 USD
I feel bad for showing this limited edition product as I just checked the Benefit website and they aren't selling it anymore, but you can still purchase each item individually. I've always wanted to try the Benefit box powders and thought this set would be perfect! It includes a mini hoola, coralista and bella bamba.

2. Benefit 6 Piece Skincare Set $24 USD
The set that inspired my purchase! I'm so excited to try out all the Benefit skincare.

3. Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream $38 USD
My skin has been incredibly dry lately and after just a couple days of using this thick cream I have actually seen an improvement.

4. Benefit Hoola Packette & Stay Don't Stray Packette free
Every online purchase comes with 2 samples, I decided to choose the Hoola and Stay Don't Stray packettes.

Have you ever tried Benefit skincare or makeup?

Revlon Lip Butters!

I was so excited when I first heard the highly hyped up Revlon Lip Butters had finally arrived in Australia... until I heard about the $21.95 price tag. Hell to the no. I concluded straight away that I would just try and find them on Ebay, until a couple days ago whilst browsing the Vogue Forums I saw that someone mentioned Priceline was having a Buy 1, get 1 Free sale on all Revlon lip products, starting today. Naturally I went there this morning and picked up 4 lovely shades for the price of 2, success!

Cherry Tart: A wearable cool toned red with slight shimmer, love it!

Candy Apple: Warm, glossy red with decent pigmentation. Lovely colour but I'm still undecided on whether I will actually find myself reaching for it.

Peach Parfait: I've heard so many people on youtube call this the 'lip product vesion of NARS Orgasm blush', so I had to try it out! As you can see from the pictures, they look very similar. It has some subtle glitter which I usually steer away from, but I actually don't mind it in this case.

Creme Brulee: Pale, glossy beige/nude shade, reminds me of a less pigmented version of the Australis Mineral Inject Lipstick in Mambo. I'm a sucker for nudes so naturally, I love it.

Sorry for the lack of product pictures/swatches, my lighting just wasn't showing anything true to colour. Luckily these have been around for a while in the US and trusty Google is full of amazing swatches. You may have noticed I stayed clear from any of the popular pink shades, I have so many cool toned pinks in my collection already I couldn't justify buying more.

Haulage: Essence Cosmetics

A good youtube friend of mine is obsessed with Essence cosmetics... and I think she has passed this obsession to me! My local Target had 25% off cosmetics recently so I thought I would pick up a few new products to try out.

First up is a gel eyeliner in the limited edition shade 'BBC All Night Brown', a gorgeous golden brown. I love the consistency of these eyeliners; they're quite a creamy mousse like texture and apply smoothly.

Next is the 'Multi Action Mascara', my first mascara by Essence. The 'best seller' sticker caught my eye and after giving it a go I can see why it would be a popular choice. I've worn the mascara a couple times and although it doesn't beat my favourite Max Factor Masterpiece Max, this mascara provides zero clumping, great length and volume and all for an affordable price. I can see myself using this mascara and purchasing it again in the future.

Lastly I picked up a 'Stay With Me' lipgloss. I went for the deep pink/fucshia shade called 'Trendsetter' as it's a unique colour that I don't have anything similar to in my collection. The consistency of this lipgloss is actually quite nice - it has a strong colour pay off, applies smoothly and has decent lasting power. The smell is quite sweet which I love but it may be off putting to some.

What are your thoughts on Essence products?
